The second version of 'The Soul Attains' shows the least variation from its earlier counterpart. Apart from a few decorative details, the chief difference lies in the brighter, harder colour and tone which pervade the later series.

The series was completed in time for exhibition at the newly-founded Grosvenor Gallery, and was well enough received to add to his now hugely growing reputation.
